Final Thoughts & Conclusion
ASRock keeps pushing the Phantom Gaming lineup to new heights and the X570 PG Velocita is no exception. With features near the top of the stack, you would expect the price to match, but a street price of just $265 makes it quite affordable compared to comparable boards from competitors landing at $400 and up. You get the latest networking, both 2.5Gb wired and Wifi6 wireless, and even niceties like a pre-mounted I/O Shield. Storage is plentiful with eight SATA ports, dual M.2 4.0 ports, and an absurd amount of USB ports.
With AMD’s latest Ryzen 5000 processors able to take full advantage of the platform (if you can actually find one to buy), having the USB BIOS flashback features is really handy for updating the BIOS without needing an older CPU to boot up with. We’d like to comment on the massive 14 phase VRM ASRock equips on the X570 PG Velocita. For most users, it’s just wicked overkill. Without sub-ambient extreme cooling, you can never hope to even put a dent in its capacity, even with the latest Ryzen 9 5950X 16-core monster CPU. Why have it then? That’s a great question, and the reason is thermals. Running at a lower power per power phase makes each phase very efficient, and, the VRM runs cold.
Awesome Job ASRock!
