Final Thoughts and Conclusion
AMD’s Ryzen 5 5600X is a really sweet piece of silicon. It has the right mix of core count, thread count, clock speed, single-core performance, multi-threaded performance, and maybe most importantly, cost. Availability of modern components has been…interesting… the last couple of months for a multitude of reasons, but if you can find the 5600X near its $299 MSRP, it’s a no-brainer. We normally wouldn’t recommend mid-range users to upgrade every generation, but the 3600X is certainly an exception, providing class-leading performance across the board for this price point. More than enough increase to justify an upgrade from a 3600X or similar even. We love to check out the flagship offerings with matching price tags, but this affordable mainstream processor knocked our socks off.
